Titanic Belfast
About
The building alone is worth stopping for. Titanic Belfast's four prow-shaped facades rise to exactly 38 metres, the precise height of the ship that was built right here on these slipways. Its exterior is clad in 3,000 individual silver anodised aluminium shards, catching the light differently at every hour, like the facets of an iceberg.

Opened in 2012 on the centenary of the sinking, the visitor experience spans nine galleries, from the shipyard's industrial roar to the silence of the ocean floor. Outside, Irish sculptor Rowan Gillespie's bronze Titanica stands sentinel, and the Titanic Plaza's tiled ground maps the ship's entire voyage from Belfast to New York.

VoiceMap's tour of the Titanic Quarter uses the building as a centrepiece, tracing the industrial story that made it possible: the Harland and Wolff Drawing Offices next door, the slipways where Titanic and her sister Olympic took shape, and the glass panels listing the 1,517 who never came home.
