Lutherstadt Wittenberg, the town signs announce, Luther Town, in case anyone wondered why they’d come. In 1517 a monk posted 95 arguments on a church door here, and Western Christianity was never quite the same. The door is bronze now, with the theses cast into it, and visitors still come to stand before it.
